How often do you get overwhelmed by optionality when you shop online? How often do you text your friends for shopping recs? How often do you wonder what your friends and friends of friends (!) are buying and loving? On Selleb, you can see what your friends are buying, not just eyeing.
βΎ The Elevator Pitch
Selleb is the one-stop shop for friends to search/share/see/save products that their friends are buying and start conversations around them. To do this, Selleb extracts SKU-level data from usersβ purchase receipts and uses machine learning to standardize this information.
Selleb doesnβt allow any sponsored content or incentivized reviews, as proof of purchase is required to make any recommendations. This ensures accountability for whomever is sharing. Selleb was founded by sisters Chloe (Stanford β21) and Claire (Georgetown β25) Lee, former classical musicians turned fashion fanatics and creators (650k+ followers on Poshmark).

1. π½ Disrupting the shopping experience with an unlikely data source
Over 90% of consumers rely on word-of-mouth ****as their #1 product discovery tool, yet no company has figured out how to compile, quantify, and leverage these trusted sources to improve the shopping experience. Selleb wants to digitize word-of-mouth with their technology to scrape through user email inboxes for purchase receipts, data points that serve as personal endorsements.
2. π©βπ§βπ§ Sister founders dream team
Chloe and Claire Lee are sisters who attended prestigious universities to study engineering and finance (respectively) before embarking on this fashion tech journey together. They declined both their corporate jobs offers to pursue Selleb full-time. Chloe is the go-to person for the fashion intelligentsia, the source to whom journalists consistently reach out to for insights and quotes (i.e., WSJ Off Duty, The Cut, The New Yorker, etcβ¦). Claire is a signed fashion model with Ford (NYC, LA, and Chicago) and MGM (Germany), working with brands like Chanel, Nike, Supergoop, Hyundai, Shopbop, etc., where she has access to a deep bench of fashion insiders.

Central to Sellebβs mission is to bring accountability and transparency to an otherwise overwhelming shopping experience. These sisters have carved a very specific niche for themselves on social media, building trust as founders who are also their own target users. Chloe and Claire have the know-how to build a strong and sticky community from the ground up.
